HOB has a solution for Kerberos authentication on 3270 applications. This provides IT managers and users with a product that enables them to upgrade to higher security and greater convenience (Single Sign-on). The IBM Mainframe, in many enterprises still an indispensable pillar of the IT structure, can now be integrated with its 3270-applications into a Kerberos environment.
Different than other "Single Sign-On" solutions, with which the passwords are stored locally and, when desired, are entered automatically without user intervention, with Kerberos no passwords are stored locally. With Kerberos the user data can be managed centrally, e.g. in Microsoft Active Directory.
With HOBCOM, HOB has a solution that also enables Kerberos to be used with 3270 applications. Via the HOB-developed Kerberos implementation, the Kerberos-capable 3270 emulation HOBLink J-Term provides you with a truly secure "Single Sign-On." In using HOB software you have a complete "Single Sign-On" from the Windows logon all the way to CICS, IMS, TSO or other host systems.
