HOBTEXT® - The Central Archiving and Mailing
Server on the Host
HOBTEXT is the comfortable Server System for Archiving Documents
under HOBCOM.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
HOBTEXT is a centralized word processing and archiving program
that runs on the mainframe. HOBCOM's comfort and user-friendliness
never fail to impresses. It also allows a connection to a PC word
processing system. Using the integrated mail function, HOBTEXT
users can communicate with the Internet (Email).
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
HOBTEXT has a convincingly clear hierarchical structure for document
storage. All documents are placed in a three tier system of cabinets,
folders and documents. When documents are created additional information
regarding who created the text, when and so forth are automatically
stored. Furthermore, HOBTEXT lets you see who last used a text
document. Comments and remarks can be separately stored for each
document which can help at a later date to find and identify a
text. The search function allows the user to search cabinets,
folders and documents, as well as comments and remarks based on
a wide variety of search criteria. Every HOBTEXT user has access
to the user-friendly text editor that allows line lengths of up
to 250 characters as well as the ability to assign combined character
attributes. The functionality of the intelligent printer can be
taken full advantage of e.g. by the serial mailing function.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
HOBTEXT offers universal and comfortable communication possibilities.
In addition to the in-house mail function that allows all HOBTEXT
users to communicate and send mail to each other, messages can
be sent using SNADS to the Internet (Email), X.400, MHS from Novell,
CC-Mail from Lotus, MS-Mail from Microsoft. An additional feature
of HOBTEXT is the Fax function. HOBTEXT together with HOBOFFICE
allows
you to communicate with any PC. This means that with HOBOFFICE
any
file can be stored in HOBTEXT's text archive and consequently
be centrally stored or in other words be available to all HOBTEXT
users. This is particularly useful for distributing and collecting
data from outside the main office. Revolutionary is that Winword
