HOB RD VPN Web-Server-Gate

HOB RD VPN Web-Server-Gate provides enterprises with secure remote access to enterprise-internal Webpages over the Internet. Company employees can thus remotely access web-based services inside the corporate network from anywhere in the world. It becomes possible, for example, for sales workers to query customer data stored in the central office, work with their SAP system via a web browser or call up new information from the Intranet. E‑Mail access over the Outlook Web Access front-end of the MS Exchange Server is also possible. This web-based software solution from HOB makes this flexible secure remote access possible from any Internet capable computer, and no HOB software need be installed on the local computer.

This remote access is secured via HTTPS. Only after successful authentication at the HOB RD VPN Web-Server-Gate can the user communicate with an internal server. This authentication can be carried out via either user name and password or with strong authentication (e.g., tokens or certificates). All  target systems made available to external employees can thus only be accessed by those with the proper authentication credentials. Anonymous access to these servers is thus not possible.

By using the target filters integrated into HOB RD VPN Web-Server-Gate, user settings can be configured individually to allow or deny access to specific sites. In the image above, access to eBay is denied, whereas the external Websites Wikipedia and that of the "bank" are allowed.
