HOB Gateway IBIPGW02

Overview

The IBIPGW02 gateway runs under Windows 98, NT and 2000. The IBIPGW02 gateway redirects IP packets from a client to a server. It can be used if a direct connection between client and server is not possible or not desired. You can also use IBIPGW02 in the "'demilitarized zone."

Prerequisites

The IBIPGW02 gateway runs as a 32-bit program under Windows 98, NT or 2000. The IBIPGW02 gateway is started in the DOS command line.

Usage

IBIPGW02 reads its configuration parameters from an .ini-file. The .ini-file can be edited with any usual ASCII-editor. Please note that this .ini file observes the conventions for ini files under Windows NT.

When IBIPGW02 is started, the first parameter specifies the name of the .ini-file.

Example:

IBIPGW02 xyz.ini

The .ini file can contain several sections whose name start with GATE and specify the parameters of the connections to the clients and to the servers.

Each section contains the following parameters:

GATEPORT	Port of the gateway.
SERVERINETA	IP address of the server to be connected.
SERVERPORT	Port of the server to be connected.
TIMEOUT	Timeout (value 0 up to nnn seconds of inactivity). Note: As IP is a connectionless protocol, a timeout should be set. We recommend a timeout from one hour to one day. If the value 0 is used, the connection will not be monitored.
