HOB, Inc. Announces Improved Mac Compatibility for HOBLink JWTNew features in the smart connectivity software from HOB, Inc.Cadolzburg, Germany (December 5, 2003) - HOB, Inc., a leading provider of Java-based connectivity technology, has recently upgraded its flagship product, HOBLink JWT, the Java client for WTS, to support Apple Safari, the powerful new Internet browser from Apple for Mac OS X..
Reacting to Microsoft's announcement that it would no longer develop versions of the Internet Explorer for Mac, HOB has now enhanced HOBLink JWT to support Apple Safari, the Mac OS X default Web browser. HOBLink JWT, v. 3.1 for Mac, using the Safari browser, was extensively tested at HOB's development headquarters in Cadolzburg, Germany. The German software engineers were so impressed, that Safari is now the browser of choice when using this powerful Java Windows Terminal Server client on a machine running under Mac OS X, Jaguar or Panther. With HOBLink JWT, Mac users have on-demand, multi-user access to Windows applications installed on various Windows servers, for example, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Servers or the NT4 Server. Even Windows XP Professional can be accessed from a Mac equipped with HOBLink JWT. Thus, Mac users can now use HOBLink JWT v. 3.1 for Mac together with Apple Safari v. 1.0 to get the best of both worlds: the quality, look and feel of their Apple computers, plus the increasingly important access to Windows applications in a server-based computing environment. HOBLink JWT is an inexpensive, intelligent and easy-to-use software solution that can provide anyone with Windows Anywhere.
Security? For server- or web-based computing, security is a matter of great concern. HOB, Inc. has also addressed this issue, and their solution can stand the comparison with any software security product on the market. HOBLink JWT supports all levels of the integrated Windows Terminal Server encryption and, in conjunction with the optional add-on product HOBLink Secure, goes beyond this with additional encryption algorithms, for example, up to 256-bit encryption, and a security manager, which can be used to generate personal certificates and create a public key infrastructure for strong client authentication.
