HOB will present the new release of HOBLink VPN at CeBIT 2005
Cadolzburg, February 4, 2005 HOB, the connectivity solutions developer and manufacturer of high-grade security software, today announced the release for sales of the VPN solution HOBLink VPN in the version 1.6.
This VPN solution is based on IPsec and now supports the implementation of the RADIUS protocol and thus also the connection to an external RADIUS server for central user management and other RADIUS-based options.
Also new is the IntraDNS function, used for the resolution of private server names.
Another new function implemented in this release is split tunneling prevention. The user has to initiate a VPN connection to the gateway through the enterprise firewall, and only then can he establish a connection to the Internet, again through this firewall and other protective measures (virus scanner). Depending on corporate policy, a direct, parallel and unprotected connection to the Internet can be prevented. In addition to this, status information on connections, opposite terminals, number of tunnels, etc. can be called both locally and remotely.
And there are more new functions: Integration of Dead-Peer-Detection (DPD): If the opposite terminal (peer) fails, the tunnel is automatically re-established, for example, after maintenance work on the gateways. UDP Keep-Alive serves to maintain a UDP/NAT session in the firewall.
